The downside of getting lots of products, whether paid for or free, is you get your name on other peoples’ lists.
Now, I know that’s a small price to pay for the information you receive, BUT it does mean your inbox gets inudated with e-mails. I’ve had times when I’ve dreaded even turning on the computer because there were so many to read.
Yes, you can delete them and unsubscribe, but I got to the stage where I couldn’t even remember who they were from, or why I was on their lists in the first place. That created a problem because I daren’t unsubscribe incase they would send me something important.
So, first lesson in internet marketing……..when you sign up for any free information, make sure you use a throwaway address. That way you can easily unsubscribe if you want to.
When you pay for something you can use another e-mail address, if you like.
That way you can ensure you stay on those lists (incase the product owners update the information they’ve sold you). Also, make sure you know who the e-mails are from because they aren’t always easy to associate with your products.
