Here's my absolute favourite company - GVO - hosting with a difference!

Before GVO launched earlier this week, with it’s huge KABOOM, Joel Therien and Mikey P, asked whether they should shave their head for charity.

It was a nice idea, and a great way to get people to tune in to the launch of GVO, which provides dedicated  hosting and powerful essential marketing tools.

Hair is a one of those things people are never really satisfied with.  I’ve yet to meet anyone who likes their own.

However, everyone seems to like to have some.

Mine is changing as I age, both in texture and colour.  I’ve given up trying to hold back the grey.  Apart from the fact MOST hair colorings contain synthetic toxic chemicals which you don’t want seeping into your scalp, or skin, I just feel it’s about time I accepted myself as I am.

What’s wrong with growing old(er) naturally?

I know, for many though, it’s a confidence thing.   Certainly if your hair looks nice, you feel better, and it’s not just women who face insecurites based on their appearance.  You only have to look at the hair products available for men to see what I mean.

Some people spend a fortune on their hair.

However, going grey is nothing compared to going bald.

Many years ago I worked with two fantastic ladies.  Both were very overweight, and apparently had a “thyroid problem”.  They also had a hair problem, but both were very different.  One had far too much and in the wrong places, and the other, suffered from alopecia. Her hair was very thin and patchy.

In both cases, their hair situation caused them considerable embarrassment, hampered their social lives and I suspect, turned them both into comfort eaters.

Chocolate can be a wonderful pick-you-up!

Men, too, get embarrassed about their hair.  The males in my husband’s family are “follically challenged”. It must be generic, because all of them have the same hair line and either lost, or are losing their hair early.

My father-in-law says, “Moss doesn’t grow on a busy highway”, but as I jokingly point out to him, “it doesn’t grow on concrete either!”

Personally, I see nothing wrong with a bald or shaved head, at any age, and it’s becoming increasingly popular with “celebrities”. Many have earned a small fortune from their smooth scalps, but of course, there’s a big difference between someone going bald through choice, and those  resulting from a medical condition or intervention.

Whilst, a good head of hair may be considered very attractive, it’s certainly what’s inside that counts.

Let’s all remember that.

Clearly, anyone who shaves their head for charity is worthy of mention though, so well done anyone who’s ever done it.  Of course, not only is it a good way to raise money, but save it too.

How?

Well, just think how much money you’d save on hair products!

Does hair loss affect you?
