Here's my absolute favourite company - GVO - hosting with a difference!

Last week I was lucky enough to attend Alex Jeffrey’s workshop in Las Vegas, (and I’ve got the photos and certificate to prove it).Alex and Jean

Alex is my mentor and I have a fondness for the young man in a maternal sort of way.

I admire his drive and ambition, the way he’s so open about his achievements and his down to earth attitude.

He’ll go far, but I hope his inevitable success won’t change him.  At the moment he’s accessible, and that adds to his credibility.

Alex Jeffreys has thousands of “raving fans” who look up to him as a leader.  He’s become in his own words “remarkable”, and incase you think that sounds very egotistical, he simply means people remark about him.

 It’s true.

Alex inspires people of all ages, from different countries and walks of life to take action and change their lives. At the course there were young men in their twenties and a seventy-five year old lady, with every category in between.

He inspired me, but he came along at the right time.  They do say, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

In order to change your life you have to have a big enough reason.

You need the big “Why”?

Mine is two fold.

The first is to be able to support my youngest son, who has autism, and the second is because of an incident, which had a profound effect on me

One day I sat in the waiting room at our local doctors and chatted to the lady next to me.  I’d known her for years. She’s the same age and in a similar situation to me, except for one thing…

 … she was suicidal!

I was shocked to discover she’d already tried to end her life twice.

Why?

Because she hated her life and couldn’t face more of the same.

Her husband, she said, took her for granted, her children had grown up and no longer needed her, she was in a job she hated but couldn’t afford to leave, and she had no qualifications to get anything better.

Like me, she was middle aged and menopausal, and you can certainly feel at times as if you’ve completely lost control of your life.

It’s a time of CHANGE both physically and mentally.

The actual “menopause” only refers to one day in a woman’s life, but it changes things for ever as she can no longer bear children.

However, it doesn’t mean her life is over – just changed.

The menopause is something you certainly can’t control BUT you can control your life.

That day made me realise there must be literally thousands of people who feel like that – not just women either, and I decided in my own small way I might be able to make a difference to someone, somehow, somewhere.

Sometimes all it takes is a quiet nudge in the right direction.

Are you someone who hates your job, or spends so much time traveling or working you never have time to spend with loved ones, and even when you do, you’re too tired or stressed to enjoy it?

Are there too many days in the month for the money you earn, and is there no chance of promotion or a pay rise?

Are you trapped in an unfulfilling career?

Do you feel undervalued and misunderstood?

There are countless reasons why people feel dissatisfied and if you don’t like how YOUR life is at the moment just remember this  –

If you want to change your life  –

YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

 YOU can you know.

All the students at the workshop agreed to give me an interview and shortly I’ll be able to reveal how, with a clear vision and a change of mindset, anything’s possible.

They’re all unique – just like YOU, and NO, they didn’t all have technical knowledge or brilliant computer skills.

Many still don’t.

They do, however, have a reason to stop settling and a desire to change. Possibly when you hear their stories, you’ll feel inspired to do the same.

It’s YOUR LIFE - only YOU can DECIDE if you WANT to CHANGE it.  No-one is forcing you to do anything, but so often people are bound by their own limiting beliefs.

They feel they just have to accept what’s currently on offer, but that’s not so.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Each of the students I spoke to  had their own life changing  ”menopausal moment”.

Maybe you’ll have one too?

Check  back to this blog regularly to hear their stories unfold.

Meanwhile, take care and keep smiling (it makes people wonder what you’ve been up to!)
