Thankfully my electricity was back on when GVOAcademy  held their Saturday webinar, so I was able to listen in to the motivation and great advice, etc. offered by the presenters. I also learned of the improvements already made, and those to come in the back office.

It was like Christmas had come  early until we were set some homework.

Yes, you read that right – homework!

Actually, it was more of a challenge for members to get out of their comfort zone. Our task, should we choose to accept it, was to create a short video by personally getting infront of a camera and talking about how GVO had changed our lives.

GVO dangled a bit of a carrot by saying some of the videos will be used as future promotional material. As that’s great free advertising, it’s a pretty clever way to  inspire some people to take action.

I was one of them.

After all, no-one gets rich staying in their comfort zone, do they, and everytime I’m challenged to do something more, I keep remembering why I’m here.

My, now twenty-year old autistic son only has another 18 months left at college. Then his whole future, and mine hangs in the balance.

What will he do

? (Answers on a postcard, please!)

All my efforts online are geared to enable me to be in a position where I don’t have to worry (so much) about how best to help him.

Anyway, you may have noticed the somewhat unusual name for my site (bearing in mind I rarely ever talk about the menopause), and possibly you wondered why I chose it?

Well, here’s the answer.

Menopause  actually only refers to ONE day in a woman’s life, but it has such a profound effect, it changes her forever.  The “before” bit is a real pain, but the “after” gets better – eventually!

Anyway, my site is called JeansMenopausalMoment.com,  because the day I decided to get on the Internet was the day that changed my life for ever.

The video I’ve just made therefore, isn’t strictly true, because in it I’ve said GVO is my “menopausal moment”. Maybe, I’ll just change my domain name to JeansMenopausalMoments as there may yet be many life changing days to come.

I’m not sure what happened to the video because the sound doesn’t tie up with the mouth movements.  It’s like one of those weird films you get on TV where it looks as if  the sound has been dubbed.

Anyway, the sentiment is there.  Just listen with your eyes  closed!

 Take care and Happy Christmas!

Jean
